New York Giants Final Week 17 Injury Report
Check out the New York Giants final injury report for their Week 17 matchup with the Washington Redskins.
The New York Giants will be facing off with their NFC East rivals, the Washington Redskins, in Week 17. The Giants have already qualified for the postseason, so they have nothing to lose or gain in this matchup; they are locked into the No.5 seed in the NFC. The Redskins, on the other hand, have plenty to play for as they need a victory to make the playoffs.
The Giants will not be handing them a victory, as the starters want to play and the Giants plan on using them in the game. It makes sense; the Giants are not close to a perfect team and getting reps can help them. Even if they do not play a whole game, as avoiding injury should be the goal heading into the playoffs, getting some playing time will be good.
With this game being as important as a preseason game in terms of standings for the Giants they will probably take a cautious approach with anyone that isn’t 100 percent healthy. There are four players that would fall into that category, as the Giants had four players listed as questionable on their injury report.
Leading the injury report is cornerback Janoris Jenkins. Jenkins suffered a potentially devastating injury against the Detroit Lions in Week 15. The Giants feared he may have suffered internal damage from being kneed in the back by Trevin Wade, but tests came back clean.

Jenkins didn’t reveal much about his status for this week’s game against the Redskins, providing a cryptic quote, saying, “I ain’t going to say yeah. I ain’t going to say no,” Jenkins said. “Just preparing on getting ready and take this week as a game week as if I’m starting. I don’t know the call or whatever. I’m just going to continue to come out.”
If he is not 100 percent healthy, expect him to sit out again to ensure he is ready to go for the playoffs. Joining Jenkins as questionable this week are rookie linebacker B.J. Goodson, rookie tight end Jerell Adams, and defensive back Coty Sensabaugh. All three play a role for the Giants week in and week out, but will probably fall under the same cautious approach as Jenkins.
The Giants do have two players that are ruled out for the game. Safety Nat Berhe is suffering from a concussion, his second one this season. Jason Pierre-Paul had hernia surgery a few weeks ago and is out. But, there are rumors that he could try and come back for the playoffs.
