Here are the New York Jets cuts to bring the roster to 53.

The deadline has come and gone. The New York Jets and the rest of the NFL have reduced their rosters down to the required 53 players. Now, this list is subject to change, as the team is expected to be very active in reviewing the new free agents on Sunday. More from Empire Writes Back

There aren’t a lot of surprises here. We talked about the minor surprise at kicker yesterday. Bringing in Thomas Hennessey to be the long snapper made many think that Ross Martin would make the team, but they went with experience.

Chris Harper was a player that showed some ability during training camp and could have had a case to make the back of the wide receiver depth chart. Some were surprised that Deon Simon was not kept on as a rotational member of the defensive line, though I didn’t see a lot there, personally.

Obviously there will be more moves coming when the suspended players return, as well as any free agent acquisitions this weekend.

Stay tuned for more moves as they come out.
