With a 5-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies in Denver on Thursday afternoon, the New York Mets completed the much dreaded 10 game road stand. Falling during the MLB trade deadline, the Mets will come home with some new faces.

The New York Mets road stand consisted of a four game split against the Padres, dropping two of three against the playoff pushing Mariners, and dropping another two of three in the Rocky Mountains.

There are debuts, more triples, walk-offs, slugfests, homecomings, and those classic Met moments.

Here is our recap of the ten game road stand:

The Mets finished off their ten game home stand, and headed out to California for a four game

series vs. the rebuilding Padres.

In the first game Jacob deGrom tossed his way to another victory. Jay Bruce led the way for the Mets with some RBIs.

Jose Reyes accomplished something very little have ever done as he swiped his 500th career base.

The Mets, as expected defeated the Padres 5-3.

The Mets were able to hang on and take game two as well. Backed by a strong outing from Seth Lugo, the Mets won 6-5.

Yoenis Cespedes homered, tripled, and doubled as the Mets tacked on six runs. Addison Reed recorded the save as the Mets fended off a Padres rally to start off the road stand strong.

The Mets decline began with a July 26th, 6-3 loss to the Padres.

Not much to recap here as Steven Matz struggled again. The Padres defense was on fire as they made some amazing defensive catches and were able to hold their early lead.

The series in San Diego wrapped up with another loss, this time a 5-7.

With nothing to lose, Chris Flexen jumped from AA to the Show and made his Major League debut.

The California native got rocked in his homecoming, including giving up a home run to the first batter he faced.

Hey rookie, welcome to the big leagues.

A series split is justified as the uneventful series wrapped up in San Diego.

The Mets’ lone win in the next series came in the first game in Seattle.

The series was a homecoming for Michael Conforto.

In the first game the Mets nearly blew an early 4-0 lead, but backed by two Conforto dingers, the Mets rallied again late to win 7-5.

Fan favorite reliever Jerry Blevins ended up getting the win to go 5-0 on the season.

Note that Addison Reed recorded the save, his last before being dealt away at the deadline.

The Mets dropped the next two in Seattle.

In the second game deGrom suffered a rare loss which ended an eight game winning streak. The Mets ace this year only gave up 3 runs, but a lackluster New York offense and gem by Yovani Gallardo allowed the M’s to even the series.

The last game fell on a Sunday afternoon so naturally, the Mets got pummeled 9-1.

Lugo failed to back up his victory earlier in the week against the Padres by getting rocked. But the real story here was the Mariners’ James Paxton. He tossed six shutout innings en-route to his sixth, yes, SIXTH win in the month of July.

The Mets wrapped up the ten game stretch, but opened up August with a three game series in Colorado vs the Wild Card holding Rockies.

This series will forever be remembered as the Amed Rosario series.

It was announced before game one that the top-prospect was going to make his MLB debut against the Rocks.

Game one was dramatic, for it ended in walk-off fashion. The Mets and Steven Matz got out to an early lead but would eventually fizzle as Rockies star, Nolan Arednao, stepped up with a 3 run homer in the 6th. A run in the 8th tied it.

Hansel Robles continued to point the Mets in the wrong direction as he gave up a 9th inning hit to Arenado and the Rocks sent their home fans home happy with the 5-4 victory.

Amed Rosario went 1-4 in his debut and made a few nice plays, but looked confused on a difficult grounder in the 9th inning.

The second game, this time, ended in the Mets’ favor. Chirs Flexen got rocked again giving up 5 runs in the third.

But the bleeding would stop there.

An Amed Rosario triple, a Curtis Granderson three run homer, and another Jay Bruce dinger

carried the way as the Mets scored 10 unanswered runs en-route to a 10-5 win.

That would capture the most exciting win of the road stand, and maybe the entire year.

Chasen Bradford recorded his first career victory as the Mets bullpen woes seemed to be put on hold pitching 6 shutout innings, which is almost unheard of at Coors Field, and holding the lead.

The end of the road stand was a Thursday afternoon game at a chilly Coors Field.

Losses do not really get more brutal and embarrassing than this.

The Mets rallied back from an early deficit to keep staying in the game.

Rafael Montero pitched decent enough, and gave himself an RBI single to make it through 5.2 innings.

But a tough Rockies lineup, and Hansel Robles, happened again.

After the Mets left the bases stranded earlier in the game, the Rocks had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th.

Robles got ahead of Met killer Arenado  0-2.

After nearly hitting him twice and falling back behind 3-2, Arenado took a pitch that was way to high for the game ending, walk off walk.

Brutal.

The Mets finished the 10 game stretch 4-6, the opposite of the home stand.

They failed to win a series… the opposite of the home stand.

Overall though, the Mets called up Amed Rosario. That in itself is worth watching.

The Mets finally come home to Flushing Meadows Friday for a series with the league’s best Dodgers on Friday.
