The New York Giants will be heading to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers next week on Wild Card weekend.

The New York Giants now know where they will be spending Wild Card weekend next week. With the Green Bay Packers defeating the Detroit Lions 31-24 on Sunday Night Football in Week 17, the Giants will be heading to Lambeau Field for the opening round of the NFL Playoffs.

This will be the second time that the Giants travel to Lambeau Field this season. They traveled there in Week 5, 23-17. That was the third consecutive game that the Giants lost at the time, and they have lost only twice since.

That was the game that Odell Beckham Jr. proposed to and hugged the kicking net. It was the low point of Beckham Jr. in the eyes of the media, but he has cleaned up his act on the field since. Look no further than how he handled the physical Josh Norman in Sunday’s matchup against the Washington Redskins.

In that first matchup, Beckham Jr. caught five passes for 62 yards and one touchdown. He was the only player to really get anything going against what was a banged up Packers secondary. Eli Manning was unable to take advantage, as the offensive line struggled to give him protection and the running game was nonexistent.

Things will not be any easier this time around. The Packers secondary is still banged up, but their defense has really picked things up. The Packers head into the postseason ranked in the top-five for sacks, a problem given the Giants offensive line woes.

The Packers also come into the postseason as the hottest team in the NFL. They are riding a six-game winning streak and have been clicking in all facets of the game. During their six-game winning streak, they have averaged 30.8 points scored and 18.7 points against. It will make for a difficult task for the Giants, but one they have overcome before.

In their two Super Bowl victories, during the 2007 and 2011 season, the Giants won games on the road at Lambeau Field en route to a championship. If they want to win their third Super Bowl with Eli Manning at the helm, they will once again have to go through the Packers at the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field.

It will be arguably the best matchup of Wild Card weekend with the strong Giants defense going up against the locked and loaded Aaron Rodgers offense. The Giants will be looking to exact some revenge from earlier in the season and start yet another improbable Super Bowl run.
