The New York Giants will be well represented at the 2017 Pro Bowl with Odell Beckham Jr., Janoris Jenkins, Landon Collins, and Dwayne Harris all being named to the team.

The New York Giants have a 10-4 record and are on the verge of a playoff appearance. It would be the first time they qualify for the postseason since 2011 when they went on to defeat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

A big reason the Giants are having a successful season is because they upgraded the talent greatly in the offseason. The Giants spent big money on free agents and it has resulted in a big turn around. As a result, the Giants will be well represented in the Pro Bowl.

The Giants will be sending four players to the Pro Bowl in the original voting. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., safety Landon Collins, cornerback Janoris Jenkins and special teams ace Dwayne Harris all made the team and are very deserving.

Beckham Jr. is once again putting together a monster season. This past week against the Detroit Lions he found himself in the record books once again. He also joined some elite company as the third player in NFL history to record at least 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns the first three seasons of their career. In 14 games he leads the team with 85 receptions for 1,173 yards and 10 touchdowns.

More from New York Giants

Collins is having a breakout season in his second year in the NFL. Collins had a rough rookie season as the Giants misused him because of injuries and a shortage of talent. This season the safety position has been hammered by injuries again, but the Giants had some backup plans in place and Collins has flourished.

Collins has a legitimate chance to be defensive player of the year in the NFL. He is having a monster season that hasn’t been reached in many ways in the history of the NFL for a safety. Collins leads the team with 108 tackles and five interceptions. He also has 13 passes defended and one fumble recovery on the season.

Jenkins was one of the big free agent acquisitions for the Giants this past offseason. His signing has paid off in a big way. The Giants pass defense has been strong all season and he is a big reason why. He normally shadows the opponent’s No.1 wide receiver and has done an excellent job of taking them out of the game.

He normally shadows the opponent’s No.1 wide receiver and has done an excellent job of taking them out of the game. Jenkins has 48 tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery, 17 passes defended and three interceptions on the season.

Harris continues to show his worth as a special teams player. He is an outstanding coverage man, downing multiple punts inside the 20 it seems each week. He is a great gunner and is sold in the return game as well.

The Giants will be well represented at the Pro Bowl, but they do have some snubs. An argument could be made for Olivier Vernon, Damon Harrison, and Brad Wing to all be at the game as well. Vernon and Harrison have helped turn the Giants defense from worst in 2015 to one of the best in 2016, while Wing has been excellent punting all season.

In reality all of the players on the Giants are hoping that they do not take part in the Pro Bowl; that is because it means the team has made the Super Bowl, which is the ultimate goal.
