Phil Jackson’s Mystique

James has been vocal about wanting to become the greatest player of all-time. He moved closer to that goal with the NBA Finals victory earlier in the week, as he now has three titles in seven tries. But, there is still some work to do before catching someone such as Michael Jordan.

Speaking of Jordan, the man that helped him achieve greatness is currently residing with the Knicks organization as the team president in Phil Jackson. Jackson helped Jordan reach that next level as a head coach, and while he won’t have the same impact from the front office it would still make for an interesting dynamic.

The Knicks have been banking on the aura and mystique of Jackson to help turn things around, and it is something that could appeal to player such as James. He badly wants to be Jordan and surpass him in terms of greatness, and there isn’t many people that will help him as much as Jackson would.

Jordan is not the only player that Jackson helped reach new heights; ask Kobe Bryant how much having the Zen Master around benefited him. Bryant badly wanted to be Jordan, and he came as close as anyone will, in terms of playing style and demeanor on the court, and Jackson had a hand in that from coaching Jordan.

While James does not want to be Jordan on the court as Bryant did, James wants to be as great as him and Jackson is the only person that has the knowledge on how to accomplish that.
