Giants vs. Cowboys: Preview, Game Time and TV Schedule

The New York Giants will be hosting the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium in Week 7 in the NFL Fox Game of the Week. The Giants, who are 3-3, are coming into the game off a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football in Week 6. The Cowboys are coming in off their bye week, but will also be riding a losing streak. They have lost three straight games after winning their first two of the season, so something has to give Sunday afternoon.

This is an important game for both teams, as the NFC East is wide open. For the Giants, they will be looking to keep pace with the Eagles and leave Week 7, at worst, in a tie for first place. The Cowboys on the other hand are looking for any success since Tony Romo went down with an injury in Week 2, and are looking to just keep pace and not fall into last place in the division.

The Giants will also be looking to exact some revenge on the Cowboys, who defeated the Giants in Week 1 on Sunday Night Football. The Giants hurt themselves in that game as much as the Cowboys won it, but the bottom line was that the Cowboys came away that night with a victory, and the Giants left AT&T Stadium with a loss.

Like any time the Giants and Cowboys face off, the offenses will be the story here. Eli Manning and company were held in check Week 1, but reeled off multiple weeks of strong performance before getting stopped in their tracks last week by the Eagles. The offensive line crumbled, giving up more sacks against the Eagles than they did the other five games in the season, and Manning doubled his interception total.

The one thing the Giants have going for them this week is that they are getting healthier. Odell Beckham Jr. and Rueben Randle both had no doubts about playing this week after missing a ton of practice leading up to their game against the Eagles. Also, on defense, the Giants will be getting plenty of help, as Robert Ayers, Devon Kennard and Jon Beason are all ready to go.

For the Cowboys, they will be starting Matt Cassel at quarterback for the first time, replacing Brandon Weeden. It should mean a lot of rushing attempts for Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden and Christine Michael. Michael, who was talked up big time with the Seattle Seahawks, was picked up by the Cowboys off waivers and is expected to see his first extended action of the season.

Defensively is where the Cowboys could have an advantage, because if the Giants offensive line struggles in protection again, they have more talented players to take advantage than the Eagles did. Randy Gregory and Greg Hardy both have their problems off the field, but on it they can cause a lot of problems rushing the passer; Hardy picked up right where he left off after missing 15 games last season and being suspended the first four in 2015, picking up five tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in his first game back.

Whose losing streak will end on Sunday evening? You’ll have to tune in to find out, as the Giants and Cowboys will face off for the final time in the regular season. Can’t figure out where to find the game? Don’t worry; we have you covered with all the information that you will need.
