The New York Giants will be hosting the Dallas Cowboys this afternoon at MetLife Stadium in the biggest game of the season thus far. The Giants, who are 3-3, will be looking to keep pace with the Philadelphia Eagles, who are facing the Carolina Panthers, for first place in the NFC East. On the other hand, the Cowboys, who are 2-3, will be looking to end their three-game losing streak and get back into the NFC East race.

The Giants will be looking to exact some revenge on the Cowboys, who pulled out a come from behind win against the Giants at AT&T Stadium in Week 1 on Sunday Night Football. The Giants didn’t help themselves much in that week with poor play calling, time management and a miscommunication down the stretch, and the Cowboys took advantage for the win.

More from New York Giants

This time around, the Giants will be looking to clean things up and end their lengthy losing streak to their rivals. The Giants have lost five consecutive games to the Cowboys, and five of the last six after winning three consecutive against them prior to that.

The Giants are also looking to put some of their own misfortunes behind them, as this season is trending in the same direction that 2014’s disaster did. After losing the first two games of the season, and winning the next three, the Giants lost to the Eagles in Week 6 to begin a lengthy losing streak. That is the same way things have gone thus far this season, so the Giants would like to stop that trend as soon as possible.

Also, with the loss in Week 1 already on their record, the Giants cannot afford to lose to the Cowboys for the second time. If they do that, it will guarantee them finishing .500 or worse in division for the sixth straight season; another streak they cannot be too proud of and would like to see end.

For that to happen, the Giants will need to have a few people step up for them this week, while containing some Cowboys at the same time as well. Check out our slideshow of six players to watch when the Giants and Cowboys face off later this afternoon.
