The Yankees received some good news regarding Jazz Chisholm's UCL injury on Friday.

It was revealed that rest and rehab were recommended instead of season-ending surgery, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post. This news is huge considering the corner infielders' struggles throughout the year prior to Chisholm's arrival.

Getting him back would provide a boost to the Yankees' lineup. Before the injury occurred, he was the team's third-best hitter and shined for the offense.

Yankees Get Great News on Jazz Chisholm Injury

New York hopes Chisholm can make it back in time before the postseason begins. Though he isn't the only player who could give the Yankees a boost in their lineup.

Jasson Dominguez, who has been in the minor leagues for most of the season, is expected to be part of the lineup as well. The rookie hasn't seen any time in the majors due to injuries that have forced him to miss an extended period of time.

Chisholm landed on the 10-day injury list on Wednesday. The injury came on a sliding play that caused him to sprain his left elbow. Shortly after, the injury was revealed to be a damaged UCL. It was initially devastating, but New York can breathe for now.

Since his acquisition, Chisholm has been a terrific difference-maker. In his first 13 games with the Yankees, he clubed seven homers. He is currently hitting .257/.328/.445 with 20 homers and 26 stolen bases on the season.

In addition to that offensive output, New York has Chisholm playing third base, which has been an entirely new position for him yet one he's taking in stride.

For the Yankees' sake, here's hoping Chisholm gets back on the field as soon as possible.
