The New York Giants are trotting into a crucial offseason in the Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll era. They had a disappointing campaign in 2023 that led to them securing the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The NFL Scouting Combine is a location where rumors begin to swirl about what teams are thinking ahead of the 2024 season. One major rumor that emerged for Big Blue is they are reportedly done with their quarterback.

NFL Network's Rich Eisen said that the Giants are "absolutely done" with quarterback Daniel Jones. In 2023, the Giants and the Jones agreed on a four-year, $160 million deal with $92 million guaranteed.

Things hit a rough patch last season as Jones suffered another neck injury with a torn ACL.

The Giants certainly need more playmakers on the offensive side with Saquon Barkley hitting the open market and tight end Darren Waller complementing retirement. With that being said, there is more smoke surrounding the Giants selecting a new signal caller in the draft.

Giants News: Rumors are Tying New York to a Top QB Prospect

According to SNY's Connor Hughes, the buzz regarding Michigan's J.J. McCarthy and the Giants took a big step at the combine. Hughes said, "There were more than a few rumblings at the combine tying J.J. McCarthy to the Giants."

He added, "Pre-combine I’d have said Nabers. Post-combine I feel McCarthy," answering who New York would pick, Malik Nabers or McCarthy.

McCarthy has received mixed reviews from draft experts and league personnel but the Giants may look at him to become their new franchise quarterback.

From 2021-2023, McCarthy logged 6,226 passing yards, 49 passing touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

With the future of Jones in New York murky at best, it makes sense that the Giants are diving into this quarterback class.

The Giants need to vastly improve this offseason to increase their chances of winning the division. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Giants are +1000 favorites to win the NFC East. If you want to take lock-in of these odds, head over to FanDuel Sportsbook and claim your sign-up bonus.
