Post-Free Agency Jets Mock Draft Sees New York Add Weapons
256th Overall Pick - Kendall Milton - Running Back
The Jets' running back room is bare after Breece Hall, with just Izzy Abanikanda who's carried the ball only 22 times behind him last year. Here the Jets add an impressive back in Kendall Milton who's shown his ability while playing in the SEC.
Milton while being a top back comes without the wear and tear many backs have splitting backfields with NFL running backs Zamir White and James Cook. Milton rushed for 790 yards on 121 carries with 14 touchdowns in 2023.
The addition of Milton could give the team another back that excels in carrying the ball at a cheaper price than free agent running backs like 2023's Dalvin Cook experiment. Milton can help New York in keeping Hall healthy, especially if the team hopes to make a deep playoff run.
257th Overall Pick - Jaden Crumedy - Defensive Tackle
The Jets continued their trend of throwing money at an interior defensive lineman to play alongside Quinnen Williams in signing Javon Kinlaw. The team has long searched for fixes via undrafted free agents and veterans with none working out eating up valuable cap space.
Jaden Crumedy has played six seasons of College Football at Mississippi State with pretty consistent production throughout. In 2023, he recorded 35 tackles with 2.5 sacks and two pass deflections.
At 6foot-5 and 305 pounds, Crumedy is incredibly athletic for his size and has been able to lineup in different techniques. The Jets would like better production out of Crumedy but, he can develop behind Williams and Kinlaw and potentially become a rotational player for Robert Saleh.
