New York Yankees fans are dying to know what's going on with Aaron Judge as the 2024 MLB season quickly approaches. Opening Day is just over a week away and the Yankees fanbase is concerned about the veteran slugger, who's been sidelined for a good chunk of spring training with an abdominal issue.

Well, the Yankees received another injury update on Judge to begin the new week and it isn't one that the fanbase is going to like.

Yankees News: Aaron Judge Injury Update

On Monday, The Athletic's Chris Kirschner reported that Judge, once again, "did not hit on the field as scheduled." The 31-year-old outfielder did participate in outfield drills, however, that clearly isn't the update that Yankees fans were hoping to hear with the regular season beginning next Thursday.

The latest Judge injury update comes around 24 hours after the five-time MLB All-Star swung off a tee and faced a pitching machine on Sunday. It had fans believing that more improvement was around the corner, but that might not be the case given Kirschner's report.

Unsurprisingly, the update also means that Judge won't face the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday. The Yankees do have Tuesday off, though, so hopefully the extra day of rest helps the former MVP near 100% health.

It's understandable why a chunk of the fanbase is frustrated with the situation. It was only on March 13 that Yankees manager Aaron Boone told the media that Judge was supposed to be in the lineup when New York faced the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday. That didn't end up being the case, leaving everyone to wonder if Judge experienced a setback or if his injury is actually worse than management is leading on.

The Bronx Bombers boast a stacked roster, but that doesn't change how beginning the new season without Judge would hurt. The Linden, CA native ranks first in home runs (138) and fifth in RBIs (304) since the beginning of the 2021 campaign and was the American League MVP just two years ago.

Hopefully, it'll turn out that the Yankees are being cautious to ensure that Judge is as healthy as can be for Opening Day. If his injury winds up being worse, New York's World Series aspirations could take a major hit.
