It hasn’t been a good 24-48 hours for New York Yankee fans as they’ve had to await the latest injury updates on stars Gerrit Cole and Aaron Judge. When it comes to the former, Cole will be out for at least 1-2 months as he’ll travel to see sports surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache about his elbow injury.

As for Judge, the former AL MVP told reporters on Tuesday that he doesn’t expect to swing a bat again until later in the week after undergoing an MRI for an abdominal muscle issue.

However, some good news involving Judge should bring some New York fans joy after hearing the news about Cole.

Yankees News: Judge Set to Return to Lineup on Saturday

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said on Wednesday that he has Judge penciled into Saturday’s lineup, according to Chris Kirschner of The Athletic. As you can imagine, Yankees fans took a huge sigh of relief as the team could not afford to have their best power hitter missing for a long time.

The 31-year-old Judge hasn’t gotten off to a good start in Spring Training, hitting .143 with a double and an RBI, and has struck out five times.

Nonetheless, Yankees fans should not sound the alarm about this, as Judge has been dealing with an abdominal muscle issue. There’s still time for the power-hitting outfielder to find his groove and at least a couple of pitches out of the park before Opening Day hits later this month.
