The New York Jets have landed one of the best receivers to hit the free agency market this offseason in former Chargers receiver Mike Williams. The contract for Williams is a one-year deal worth up to $15 million dollars, according to Ian Rapoport.

New York Jets Offense the Best in Recent Years

The former first-round pick tore his ACL last season playing in just three games for the Chargers catching 19 passes for 249 yards and a touchdown.

Joe Douglas has done an incredible job filling the team's holes on the offense this offseason landing Tyron Smith at left tackle, John Simpson at guard, and Morgan Moses at tackle.

The signing gives the Jets a top-caliber receiver opposite of Garrett Wilson, suddenly making the offense more explosive. The one-year deal fits perfectly with the Jets' window with Aaron Rodgers, giving the team little to no risk long-term.

If Williams can recover, with a healthy Aaron Rodgers, Williams and Garrett Wilson can each get above 1,000 yards receiving becoming the first Jets duo to reach the feat since Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall.

The Jets are now positioned to pick the best player available in the draft after filling holes at tackle, guard, and receiver. The current player we have mocked to the Jets is Brock Bowers, a tight end out of Georgia which would give the team another weapon for Rodgers.

The Jets could also trade up in the draft to land one of the top receivers in Marvin Harrison Jr or Malik Nabers.

The New York Jets offense now has one of the most explosive offenses in the team's recent history. The Jets have the firepower on offense to compete against any team in the league as long as Rodgers stays healthy.

The Jets entered the off-season with little cap space to maneuver with, however, great deals by Joe Douglas built this team into a serious contender. This season is Super Bowl or bust for the Jets with a slim window to compete in. They are, however, currently +3000 on FanDuel Sportsbook to win the Super Bowl LIX.
