Jets 7-Round Mock Draft: An Offensive Infusion to Boost AFC East Title Hopes
185th Overall Pick - Caeden Wallace - Offensive Tackle
The Jets have a long-term hole at tackle as both Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses near the end of their careers. Here New York lands insurance in Penn State's Caeden Wallace, a 6"4 offensive tackle.
Wallace is a sleeper as he could be a late riser in the draft process. The Jets land a solid developmental prospect here as Wallace allowed just one sack and 11 pressures in 359 pass blocking snaps.
256th Overall Pick - Jaden Crumedy - Defensive Tackle
The Jets continued their trend of throwing money at an interior defensive lineman to play alongside Quinnen Williams in signing Javon Kinlaw and bringing back Solomon Thomas. The team has long searched for fixes via undrafted free agents and veterans with none working out, eating up valuable cap space.
Jaden Crumedy has played six seasons of college football at Mississippi State with pretty consistent production throughout. In 2023, he recorded 35 tackles with 2.5 sacks and two pass deflections. Over his career, Crumedy has shown an ability to rush the passer with 8.5 sacks.
At 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds, Crumedy is incredibly athletic for his size and has been able to line up in different techniques. The Jets would like better production out of Crumedy, but he can develop behind Williams and Kinlaw and potentially become a rotational player for Robert Saleh.
257th Overall Pick - Austin Jones - Running Back
The Jets head back to USC one last time here landing an exciting running back in Austin Jones. Jones is an undersized back at just 5"9 however, he stands out on tape when you watch the other USC Trojans in this draft.
The 2022 campaign was Jones' most productive season with 894 total yards and six touchdowns before the USC backfield got crowded. Adding Jones gives the Jets insurance for Breece Hall while also giving the team a potential star as a third-down receiving back.
