The latest buzz around the Giants has connected them to Florida State running back Trey Benson. Here New York lands the electric playmaker with their second-round pick to pair him in the backfield with Devin Singletary.

The junior has two seasons as a major contributor for the Seminoles in a split backfield, with 156 carries for 905 yards and 14 touchdowns while adding 227 yards and a touchdown in the passing game.

If the running back gets into space, good luck, as he runs a 4.39 forty-yard dash and his speed flashes when watching his film. Drafting Benson would give the Giants an instant boost as a dual-threat weapon.

Outside of Singletary, the Giants are bare at running back with unproven players in Eric Gray, Gary Brightwell, Deon Jackson, Jashaun Corbin, and Dante Miller behind him.

While Singletary has the ability to replace Saquon Barkley's production on the ground, he'll struggle to be as effective as a receiver. The addition of Benson would give the Giants a back that's proven as a receiver and could be a long-term plan. The offense needs an infusion of talent and drafting Benson would be a great start.
