Elite Playmaking Prospect Excited at the Potential of Playing with Aaron Rodgers
The New York Jets will be ultra-aggressive this offseason to improve a lackluster offensive unit. Gang Green struggled immensely in 2023 when Rodgers went down with his season-ending torn Achilles.
They finished the year ranked 31st in total offense (268.6) and 30th in both passing offense (171.7), and points per game (15.6).
It's no secret that the Jets need to make major strides in 2024 to end their 13-year playoff drought. The NFL Draft is a big component for teams to improve and New York isn't any different. The NFL Scouting Combine is happening this week in Indianapolis.
The Jets currently own the No. 10 overall pick and many people believe it will be used on either an offensive tackle or pass-catcher.
One of the top difference makers in this draft is Georgia tight end Brock Bowers. The 21-year-old made some interesting comments at the combine on Feb. 29.
Bowers would be pumped to snag passes from a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Rodgers. The California native said, "It would be cool to learn under him and just play with him."
I know people might be questioning a tight end at No. 10 but Bowers is truly different. He has elite speed and playmaking ability. He has lined up in the backfield and out wide, showcasing his versatility.
Bowers also does damage in open space and makes it hard for defenders to bring him down. From 2021-2023, he compiled 175 receptions for 2,538 receiving yards, and 26 touchdowns.
New York needs elite playmakers around Rodgers in 2024 and Bowers would certainly provide that.
