The New York Jets have long had eyes on Davante Adams, with the hopes of pairing the All-Pro receiver with Aaron Rodgers again. They tried to trade for him at the trade deadline but failed, leading many to believe that they would do so again this offseason. Considering the lack of elite offensive weapons on the roster, this made a lot of sense.

However, it seems like the Jets will have to wait longer for their Davante Adams dreams. The Las Vegas Raiders' new general manager Tom Telesco shut down all trade rumors at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Jets Dream Target Davante Adams Not On the Trade Block

This certainly throws a wrench into the works of the Jets offseason. Yet, it doesn't mean that the door is shut forever.

Adams was previously unhappy in Las Vegas, voicing his frustrations with the offense. This offseason, the Raiders brought in Luke Getsy as their new offensive coordinator, someone Adams is very familiar with from his Green Bay tenure. He also seems pleased with the hiring of Antonio Pierce as the full-time head coach.

However, things could easily sour again. And if they do, the Jets will continue to be on top of the list for potential destinations for the six-time Pro Bowler.

The Jets will now look elsewhere for a receiver to pair with Garrett Wilson. The team has prioritized players with Aaron Rodgers connections over the last year, but they might not have the luxury to be so picky this offseason, as they only have a little over $10 million in cap space heading into free agency.
