Jets Finally Unite Aaron Rodgers & Davante Adams in All-In Move
The New York Jets didn't get the new head coach bump they were hoping for on Monday night, dropping a divisional game to the Buffalo Bills. The Jets lost this game due to missed field goals as the offense wasn't able to finish off drives, settling for field goals.
At 2-4, the New York Jets couldn't afford to throw in the towel as they've invested too much into this current team. Given how something needed to change, the New York Jets have pushed all of their chips into the middle trading for superstar wide receiver Davante Adams.
The Jets will ship a conditional third-round pick that could become a second-round pick to Las Vegas in exchange for the veteran wide receiver.
This move is in part due to the struggles of the Jets' wide receiver room as some of the offseason moves haven't panned out. Mike Williams ran the wrong route on the interception that sealed the game while Malachi Corley hasn't panned out like the Jets would've hoped.
The Jets now have two elite top-end receivers in Adams and Garrett Wilson along with another former Packer Allen Lazard.
The stat that has been all over the internet amidst the Jets' struggles has been that the offense has scored the same number of points thus far as they did last year. Going forward, that can't be the case as there is such a hoard of talent on this Jets offense.
If the Jets can't start to win with this current core, then a teardown may be in order as Aaron Rodgers hasn't played to his MVP standard. The Jets will get to face the Steelers on Sunday Night Football where every offensive weapon will be needed, especially on a short week.
