Worldwide Wes…giving the fans something to cheer about?

He knows everyone, everyone admires and respects him, how does that translate for the New York Knicks?

According to sports pundits in print and on television, the past several years the Knicks have been the butt of their jokes. Almost every day, on every telecast, they’re mocked and ridiculed. From the owner, James Dolan, to the security guard who dared to ask Spike Lee to use the celebrity entrance, the world’s most famous arena has heard more chants of “Sell the team”, then cheers for their players over the last several years.

How will Wes stop that? What can he bring to the Knicks’ table?

According to everything I’ve found out about him, if the Knicks are truly in rebuild mode, he will be able to steer some of the younger free agents to join the team. Not just the players who are past their primes, are injury-prone or are on their way to retirement, but young players who can legitimately make a difference.

More from New York Knicks

In a statement put out by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Wesley was quoted as saying,

"My long history with and respect for Jim Dolan and Leon Rose, as well as the chance to be part of the New York Knicks, made this an opportunity I wanted to pursue. I look forward to joining the current staff and moving the organization toward a successful future."

The most powerful man in basketball works in the front office of the New York Knicks organization, and only time will tell how much of an impact he can make.

It has been a long-time coming, I feel as though I write the same article every year. As a fan, I’m believing in Rose and Wesley, I’m believing in “worldwide” change coming to Madison Square Garden, the world’s most famous arena.
