What Martinez does best
There is plenty of upside to Martinez. Green Bay isn’t a place where an average or below middle linebacker will be tolerated. He does so many little things well and as a result, makes those around him better. Here’s former Giants offensive lineman Shaun O’Hara breaking down some game film on Martinez.
When the @packers take on the @49ers this Sunday, Two of the Most Disruptive Defenses in the @nfl this Year will be on Display. One guy that keeps showing up on Film is @Big__Blake50 He was a "Spy" Rusher last wk vs SEA & had the Green Light in Wk 12 #GBvsSF @nflnetwork pic.twitter.com/kohUxIsaqr

Getting into a position to make plays is a huge part of football and very often underrated. Matinez’s tackle numbers are so high because he is where he needs to be when he needs to be there. Not only him but his teammates as well. Martinez calling signals for the New York Giants in 2020 will make the overall defense better, due to his ability to read opposing offenses.
As of right now, I’m not overly excited about the pickup but I am content. Martinez will help the run defense immediately. It’s a classic Dave Gettleman move. The Giants GM believes stopping the run is the most important thing a defense does.
New York Giants fans must put some faith in new head coach Joe Judge and his defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, to put a winning defense on the field. They will teach the fundamentals and put together a scheme where Martinez and the rest of the defense are in the best possible position to limit mistakes and succeed.
