The right fit

It appears that Gang Green well situated to be buyers and won’t have many competitors offering blank checks to free agents. Jets fans look to be open to the idea of signing Ngakoue because they are sick and tired of the team drafting defensive lineman in the first round who fall short of expectations. Also, they certainly don’t want Adams being the only player causing havoc in the backfield, as fun as that may be.

Another issue is whether Ngakoue would be a good fit for the team and how much he is looking to get paid. The Jets have to be tired of overpaying players who underperform and disrupt locker room chemistry, Muhammad Wilkerson’s last two years come to mind.

More from New York Jets

Hopefully, Douglas can make the right call on Ngakoue because the Jets cannot afford to overpay players and overlook positional needs. Can Adams go two-for-two and get Nagkoue to sign with the New York Jets? Does he have that much star power?

If Adams does have that much stroke then he needs to get paid sooner rather than later for both his play on the field and ability to attract top players.  As a matter of fact, he should probably have a front office jo after he hangs up his cleats.

Now, before I go daydream about the Jets being competitive next year, here is a parting gift of what Ngakoue could bring for the Jets next season.
