New York Giants two-round 2020 mock draft compilation 3.0 – Mid-February
By Ed Stein
Round 2, 36th overall pick
There isn’t as much information about the following round. The deeper a mock draft goes the more of a guessing game it becomes. Different writers may have great internal sources, but there are so many variables in play that it makes predictions very difficult.
Needless to say with all the could happen in the 32 selections between the New York Giants first and second-round picks, a consensus is nearly impossible. Of the nine mocks that go into the second round, not a single player came up twice. Eight of them had Big Blue going defense. Among those believed to be headed to the Big Apple are:
Julian Okwara, Edge, Notre Dame
Cameron Dantzler, CB, Clemson
Raekwon Davis, DT, Alabama
Curtis Weaver, EDGE, Boise State
Kyle Dugger, S, Lenor-Reine
Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU
Yetur Gross-Matos, Edge, Penn State
Grant Delpit, S, LSU
Austin Jackson, OT, USC
Gross-Matos is expected to be the third Big Ten edge rusher and maybe third overall) to get drafted behind, Young and AJ Epenesa. At 6-5, 265-pounds, Gross-Matos has the size and length scouts love at the end of the line. He is also hard to handle at the point of attack in obvious passing situations. Last season the defensive end picked up eight sacks. He’s been a big riser up the mock draft boards over the past few weeks and some see him as a late first-round pick.

Curtis Weaver is a bit of an enigma. There are some who say he is a second or third round talent from a smaller school. Others believe he could turn out to be one of the best pass rushers in this draft. That reminds me a little bit of the buzz around Michael Strahan coming out of Texas Southern.
"Listed at 6-3 and 245 pounds, Weaver provides vibes of Derek Barnett of the Philadelphia Eagles: he is not an elite athlete, but uses his technique and savvy to make plays in the backfield. – Corey Kinman, With the First Pick."
Of all the edge rushers in the 2020 draft, Weaver has the most career sacks with 34.
