New York Jets top 5 free agent offensive lineman targets
2. Joe Thuney, Guard, 27
Tom Brady has been extremely well protected his entire career and Joe Thuney has been a part of that protection that last four years. He once again played all 16 games last season allowing just one sack and had zero penalties.
The Patriots for some reason just seem to be an offensive lineman factory, every year they always have one of the best in the league. Gang Green fans would love to take away a player from New England and he would really help them as he knows how to protect a big-time quarterback
If the New York Jets want to create a winning culture, bringing in a guy who was coached by Bill Belicheck is always a good move. Thuney has tons of playoff experience, cashing in with two Super Bowl appearances. He is also very durable, he has played 99.2 percent of the snaps over the last four seasons. This one almost makes too much sense for the Jets.
1. Jack Conklin, Tackle, 26

Plenty of teams will go after Jack Conklin when free agency opens, the Jets had better be one of them. While he has had some injury problems in the past, he played all 16 games last season with seven penalties and allowed four sacks. Conklin and the Titans made it to the AFC Championship Game last year so he has a little playoff experience. He’s a young guy with a ton of upside.
Conklin could come on the cheaper side for NYJ. His injury history could work in Gang Green’s favor. Plus if the Jets draft a few more big boys this spring, they could build a really nice young offensive line that they could grow for the future. Exactly what every team should want and building it around Conklin would be a smart start.
