The New York Giants hold the 4th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and with that pick they may have an opportunity to draft corner Jeff Okudah out of The Ohio State University.

Once again, the New York Giants have one of the top picks in the NFL draft. This is something that has become an annual occurrence as of late and we find ourselves asking once again, who will Big Blue take?

Big Blue’s biggest struggles come in their secondary, a unit that was horrible in 2019 as was their defense as a whole. It is for this reason that the Giants could go for a player that would help them out immediately in their secondary.

One of those players is Jeff Okudah, CB out of THE Ohio State University.

Jeff Okudah had a big 2019 season. He collected three interceptions, forced a fumble, had 83 total tackles which led to his selection as a Sporting News All-American. He ultimately helped lead Ohio State to a 13-0 start with a Big Ten Championship before losing to Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl.

If the Giants were to take Okudah, he would be lined up opposite one of the Giants first-round picks from last season, Deandre Baker. Pairing Okudah and Baker could be lethal going forward as Okudah is the best cornerback in this year’s draft and Baker was fantastic in college as well.

In my opinion, Okudah would be the best possible pick for right now. The Giants ranked 31st in pass defense according to Football Outsiders, which for those of you who aren’t aware, is second to last.

More from New York Giants

If the Giants have the New York Giants have an opportunity to get a talented player like Okudah who is quick, can guard anyone in the nation one-on-one and is just as athletic as anyone on the field. Those are qualities that Big Blue would have trouble passing up.

It is hard to find flaws in Okudah’s game, he is that talented and because of it, many believe his talents will translate incredibly well, once he steps foot on an NFL field.

TheDraftNetwork.com compares Okudah to Jalen Ramsey, which if you ask me, is a pretty incredible comparison. If the New York Giants have an opportunity to draft a player who is even the slightest bit comparable to Ramsey, they should undoubtedly go after him. The biggest hurdle to that plan is the Detroit Lions who pick one ahead  Big Blue and are very interested in Okudah as well.

Okudah is a player who the Giants won’t need to wait on for him to make an impact, he will be ready to go right away. Because of this and many other reasons, Jeff Okudah would be the player on the top of my big board if I were the New York Giants.
