New York Knicks should do all they can to draft LaMelo Ball
By Kyle Ziefert
Making it happen
Bringing LaMelo to the Garden will give people like me hope, but it also depends on who is in the front office. Tight away they should trade away the veterans at the deadline. Then show Knox and Frank Ntilikina that the team didn’t give up on them just yet. Finally, they must give Robinson more minutes to grow into the rim protector he has shown he can be.
Some people will be upset with the thought of trading the Dallas picks in a package for LaMelo. However, those picks are not going to be very good because Luka Doncic is great and is only going to get better and with better talent around him. The Mavs will be a threat to win the championship every year.

Dallas’ picks would probably be around the late 20s unless something happens. So, the New York Knicks need to ask themselves if they would rather use both in a package deal to move up and potentially draft a future superstar with a top-three pick (if they don’t have one), or keep the late first-round picks to get a potential role player.
I am not saying LaMelo is a guaranteed superstar. He may not be as good as his brother or even as good as everyone makes him out to be. But, I like the idea of drafting him because he is a true point guard, can facilitate and has great vision.
LaMelo brings the hype with him, he’s proven he can stand the pressure, There is no ceiling for the type of player he could potentially be. The lottery is really the only thing New York Knicks fans have to look forward to. They need a point guard, LaMelo is the answer.
