New York Knicks: 2019 free agency primer
By Alan Mena
1. Julius Randle
This option is perhaps my favorite this summer. In just this season with the New Orleans Pelicans, Julius Randle has solidified himself as a star aside from already being an effective bruiser in the paint. At only 24-years-old, Randle will continue to expand his game on both ends of the floor.

In his lone season with the Pelicans, he averaged 21.4 points (career-high), 3.1 assists, 8.7 rebounds, on 52.2 FG%, 34.4 3PT% (career-high), 73.3 FT% (career-high), in 30.6 (career-high) minutes a game in 73 appearances (49 starts).
In the Eastern Conference, those are clearly All-Star numbers.
If Randle is indeed interested in signing with the Knicks, he won’t have to worry about sharing the spotlight with Zion Williamson in New Orleans and try to cement his career in New York.
Final thoughts
Although this list of free agents may not include Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving, it does contain players that have established themselves around the league enough to be considered to pursue in Free Agency.
Assuming the Knicks select R.J. Barrett as the third pick of the NBA Draft and choose to retain and develop him for the future, the future of this franchise can be considered somewhat exciting.
Let’s at least hope the Knicks are able to sign these players or those with similar talent so they can drastically increase their likelihood of making the playoffs next season.
