New York Knicks management continues to field fan questions regarding recently traded NBA All-Star Kristaps Porzingis.

As the New York Knicks attempt to focus on the upcoming NBA Draft and impending free agency market. The franchise brain trust continues to field questions regarding former All-Star player Kristaps Porzingis and his busy life off the court.

The 7-3 forward was dealt before the trade deadline to the Dallas Mavericks in a shockingly abrupt manner back in February. The trade raised many questions around the league amongst other general managers, players, and fans.

At the time, NYK was building for the future with Porzingis as the centerpiece. That was until the 23-year-old allegedly requested a trade during a meeting with both General Manager Scott Perry and team president Steve Mills.

A few months later and the story comes up again during a recent New York Knicks fan forum explaining what exactly was said from franchise’s point of view. Mills answered a question regarding the infamous meeting essentially not holding back at all on the details.

"“[Porzingis] point-blank said to us, ‘I don’t want to be here, [He said]: ‘I’m not going to re-sign with the Knicks and I’m going to give you seven days to trade me, or I’m going back to Europe.’ Fortunately for us, through that process we [started] in September, we had a number of deals lined up, and we started the trade calls as soon as he walked out of the office.”"

Since the January trade, the New York Knicks have been spectators to altercations involving Porzingis in the media. The Latvian star was involved in a bar fight with fans a few weeks ago in his hometown. It was an incident that has since been labeled as “wrong place at the wrong time” by the Mavericks. Nevertheless, the video spread like wildfire online, as Porzingis was left bloodied by the encounter.

That attack is coming off the heels of Porzingis facing possible rape accusations from a woman in New York City. The Knicks have stayed away from the situation and the NBA is still looking into the matter along with police. Porzingis continues to claim his innocence as the incident allegedly took place the night of his ACL tear back in February 2018.
