It is still very possible for the Knicks to get both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

The Knicks have enough cap space this offseason to secure two superstars. Many believe if the Knicks do secure two superstars it will be Irving and Durant, those same people believed it would be alongside Zion Williamson, but nonetheless, it’s still possible.

“Uncle Drew” to New York rumors have been around since before Irving requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. This offseason is the first time Irving hits free agency in his career. Him wearing the blue and orange is now more possible than ever.

Irving went to Saint Patrick High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey and it is mainly for this reason that so many believe he will return home. During the previous offseason, those rumors hit their peak and it seemed as if Irving to the Knicks would be a done deal.

In somewhat of a plot twist, he promised Boston fans that he would resign with the Celtics as long as they wanted him back after 2018-19. The Celtics then failed to live up to their potential, bowing out to Milwaukee in the second round of the playoffs.

From there, rumors began to circulate once again. Aside from New York, the Los Angeles Lakers with former teammate, Lebron James, are the other frontrunners. However, according to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, there is “No way in hell,” Irving goes to the Lakers.

"“From what I’m told, it’s not going to happen. I got a text message from folks close to Kyrie’s family, within the hour, as we were teasing this subject. Quote: ‘There is no way in Hell he’s going to LA. I don’t give a damn what anybody says, knock that down for us right now please. He ain’t going to LA.’ That’s what they say,” Stephen A.
