New York Knicks: Three trade destinations for Enes Kanter
The New York Knicks have mismanaged another veteran player in Enes Kanter. Here are some trade destinations for the center.
It’s not hard to believe the New York Knicks have mishandled yet another veteran player. As it is, the team has been in perpetual rebuild mode since Jeff Van Gundy was fired. There are too many veteran victims to count at this point.
At this point, fans expect this to happen as the team looks to be back in rebuild mode once again. The latest victim of the Knicks’ inability to manage veterans is Enes Kanter.
Kanter has gone from being one of the most productive players on the team’s roster to a coach’s decision to not enter the game.
It’s unclear exactly why the Knicks have decided to demote Kanter to a bench role as he was playing at a very high level.
The team does not seem to have an answer either as he was expected to start last week against the Houston Rockets, but instead did not play.
Both sides appear to be frustrated with Kanter telling reporters after the game if you’re not going to play me then let me go.
It’s an understandable sentiment from the team, but Kanter being frustrated is easy to understand. Typically production does mean playing time.
The Knicks are far from typical these days, however.
The 26-year-old has been through a lot of drama off the court this season. Despite all of that and his limited playing time, he is still averaging 14.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. Any contender would be happy to add that type of production to their squad.
