We take a look at the offense of New York Jets coach Adam Gase, by looking at how the Miami Dolphins played, on offense after he arrived on the scene.

The New York Jets have taken a lot of heat for selecting Adam Gase to be their next head coach. After all, his record in Miami after three seasons was 23-25. It’s not as if he tore the league up with his performance in Florida.

After going 24-40 over four seasons in New York, the team fired Todd Bowles and ended an era in Jets history that started up with promise but ended at 4-12.

Did the Jets quit on Bowles? Maybe some of them did. We will never really know that answer to that one.

Most fans are hating the hire of Gase, there are some defenders. The fans that like Gase talk about his ability as an offensive coach. They talk about the fact that he isn’t a first time coach, which has been the Jets choice since Bill Parcells stepped down.

This morning, we are going to break down how good Adam Gase is, or isn’t, with offensive football. Did he prove to be an offensive innovator or just another good, not great, offensive assistant coach?

The year before Gase arrived, the Dolphins went 6-10. Joe Philbin and Dan Campbell served in the head coaching position. Bill Lazor and Zac Taylor served as offensive coordinator. Lazor served with Philbin while Taylor was promoted with Campbell.

Here is where we are going to start, one year before Gase arrived, and then go through his tenure. Did Gase move the needle forward in his time with the Jets’ offense or will he not?

Let’s move to the 2015 breakdown:
