The New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets played their first game against each other this year on Wednesday night, what can we expect from the two teams, in comparison to each other?

The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets played the second game of the preseason against each other on Wednesday night. It was a back and forth game but proved some points.

The Knicks eventually came away with a victory over their crosstown rival, 107-102. The game had much less luster than the Knicks’ first preseason game considering fans just want the games to mean something already.

The teams opened the season with over/under set at 29.5 for the Knicks, and 32.5 for the Nets. Both teams being evaluated towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

Wednesday night, the Knicks we led by a surprising up and comer, Allonzo Trier. I have documented how I feel about the rookie out of Arizona.

After the game last night, Knicks’ coach, David Fizdale, shared his thoughts as well

Fizdale would go on to say that Trier is earning his contract on this team now, despite his proclivity for not passing the ball to anyone. Trier was great last night, providing the Knicks with instant offense, we’ll see how long that lasts.

The Nets showed that they are one of the weirdest teams in the NBA this season. Without a true star on the team, but plenty of good players, the Nets could end up running 10 players on any given night.

Wednesday night’s game illustrated aspects of both team’s narrative for the season, but obviously not the entire story.

The two teams will compete for draft position this year. What aspects of the two teams will set them apart from each other?
