Game One:

Yankees @ Red Sox

J.A. Happ vs. Chris Sale

Fenway Park, Boston, MA

7:32 EST

Game 1 in Boston will pit J.A. Happ against Chris Sale. Happ has been fantastic against the Red Sox this season while Sale has been fantastic the entire year.

Happ has faced off against the Red Sox four times this season, two of them with the Blue Jays and two with the Yankees. He is 3-1 against Boston this year winning both of his matchups while a member of the Yankees.

In the four games combined against Boston, Happ has let up a total of five earned runs on only 17 hits. In the lone game, Happ failed to win against the Red Sox this year the Blue Jays let up five unearned runs leading to a 6-4 loss.

This being said, Happ is the Yankees best option on the bump when the game starts at 7:30 Friday night.

On the other side of the ball, the Red Sox will be putting the potential AL Cy Young on the mound to try to take care of business. Chris Sale is 12-4 on the season with an astonishing 2.11 ERA.

This season, Sale has faced off against the Yankees two times as the Red Sox went on to win the two games by a combined score of 25-1.

Against Chris Sale, the Yankees have only scored one earned run on nine hits as Sale has gone for 13 innings between the two games.

Sale has been unbelievable every time he has stepped on the mound this year and it hasn’t been any exception when the Yankees are the ones staring him down from the batter’s box.

Prediction: Red Sox 3 Yankees 1

Like every other game against the Yankees this year, Chris Sale will be dominant on the mound as he goes seven strong letting up only three hits, one of which is an Aaron Judge homer to right field.

On the other side, J.A. Happ will also be lights out but after being pulled following the sixth inning the Red Sox will catch some momentum leading to a 3-1 Red Sox win.
