5. Killer crossover

Just by watching the video, you know this is one of the earlier highlights from Kidd’s career. This stellar display of skill happened during Kidd’s first go around with the Mavericks. He’s so young, he actually has hair!

There are a three different levels to how great this play is.

The first one is obviously the initial crossover. Ron Harper, who if you look into had one of the weirder careers of all time, was the recipient of this bewildering crossover. He got crossed so hard that he fell into the screen, that Kidd didn’t end up using.

The second aspect is crossing over Scottie Pippen.

I was unfortunately too young to watch Pippen play, but from what I’ve heard he was one of the best defenders of the generation. Kidd made Pippen look like a high schooler after the second cross over.

Finally, the third and final piece, Kidd jumps, triple pumps the basketball around two other defenders for a perfect drop pass.

He made four out of five Bulls players look foolish. This was not the Bulls from the 2000s either. This was your father’s Bulls team.

In the 1995 season, where this play took place, the Bulls famously went 72-10, en route to another championship.

Kidd making mince meat of this team forces the play into his top 5 plays of all time. For this magical move, Kidd scores 4.6/5 spilled drinks on this one for Kidd.
