USA Today’s For the Win thinks that New York Giants QB Eli Manning isn’t a good quarterback. The truth is, he is one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

After the New York Giants went 3-13 last year, some people might question how good quarterback Eli Manning is and whether he still has it.

USA Today’s For the Win ranked Eli as one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, ranking him 25th.

By the way New York Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, who will start the Jets season opener on Monday night, was ranked 31st.

Here’s what For the Win said about Manning:

"“Sure, Eli Manning was put in an awful situation last season. His top receivers were out for the year by October. The offense was unimaginative. His offensive line couldn’t block anyone. But Manning didn’t play well, either. For a second year in a row. His arm just isn’t what it used to be, and it’s exposing the rest of his game. Eli was never very accurate and his decision-making has always been questionable. His waning arm strength has only highlighted those issues. Manning must adjust his game or he’ll continue to drop down the league’s quarterback hierarchy.”"

Manning  had an ok year last year, as he threw for 3,468 yards with 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions and was benched for one game.

However, he isn’t one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, he is one of the best. To say that Eli is the 25th best quarterback in the league is like saying Tom Brady is the worst quarterback in the NFL.

Manning has won two Super Bowls, two Super Bowl MVP awards, set franchise and NFL records and is in or around the top 10 in every major historical passing stat.

He is a future Hall of Famer, so saying that he is one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL is ridiculous and makes no sense.

Eli believes that he can still play at a high level and play better than he did last year. He told Tom Rock of Newsday:

"“They made the decision and they trusted that I can still play and I want to prove them correct. I want to prove that they’re right, they made the right decision, and I can still play at a high level and lead this team.I know I can still play at a high level. Last year we had a lot of things go wrong and I have to play better than I did.And I will.”"

I wrote that the Giants have all the ingredients to make the playoffs this year. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. believes that Manning can lead them to the Super Bowl. Beckham told Steve Serby of the New York Post:

"“I’d tell ’em that this is gonna be the year that he does what everybody feels like he’s capable of doing and you got the guys around him to do it. Now it’s just about him leading us to where he’s been before, and I think we’re all excited about it.It’s time for him. We’re all ready, we all believe in him, it’s just time for him to do it.”"

I think the Giants can make the playoffs this year and maybe make it to the Super Bowl and win a Super Bowl title. You don’t make it to the playoffs or the Super Bowl without a good quarterback and team and Eli is a great quarterback.
