The New York Giants are in the middle of their training camp and are once again being led by quarterback Eli Manning. Since this debate needs to be put to bed for good, Manning is a Hall of Famer.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony was on Saturday night and it brings up this age-old debate again on whether or not New York Giants great Eli Manning will be inducted in this ceremony one day.

As that all happens this weekend, he is once again quietly leading the Giants through another grueling training camp for the Giants.

The Giants’ younger talent is clashing on the field and holding their ground. Their main star, Odell Beckham, is one of the most polarizing players in the NFL.

More from Empire Writes Back

This is Pat Shurmur’s first camp as the Giants’ head coach. He has his whole new staff here too. New GM Dave Gettleman had an awesome draft and is making swooping changes already.

But, with all this going on and with all the crazy changes happening in camp, there remains one constant: Eli Manning is the starting QB.

Yes, maybe not for long. And yes, the Giants would be wise to start seeing what they have in the guys behind Eli.

But, there is a reason why benching Eli last season was a fireable offense. There is a reason a lot of fans are having a hard time letting Manning go and why the team is having a rough time giving Davis Webb, or whoever a lot of reps.

It is not solely because they are not ready or because things felt wrong. It is because Eli Manning is a Hall of Fame player and that kind of talent should not just be put to rest or pushed aside. He deserves too and will go out on his own.

I am so sick of this “debate.” There are so many articles out there talking about whether or not Eli is a Hall of Famer or just an all-time great Giant.

However, there is no debate. I just don’t see how he is not worthy of enshrinement.

Sure he might have an odd body type and cannot run to save his life, but no player is perfect.

Eli Manning is a Hall of Famer if Aaron Rodgers is going to be too. They both led their teams entirely on the road in the playoffs to their first Super Bowl.

Eli Manning should be in Canton if John Elway is. They both have long careers with one team and two Super Bowl wins as a player.

Eli is a Hall of Famer if Tom Brady is because they both they both have two Super Bowl MVP awards.

The list goes on and on, but it doesn’t even need to.

Eli Manning has nothing more or less than a stellar job at being the Giants QB. With all the great defenses he had around him his whole career all he had to do was be clutch and be able to sling it if need be, he is and does every time.

Few quarterbacks do their exact job like Eli has and for as long as he has. That alone is worthy of a bust in Canton forever.

He is pure-class on and off the field. He is the epitome of what a New York sports star needs to be and is. He sets the standard for leadership and loyalty every time he steps on the field.

He is a Hall of Famer in every aspect of the word. There are people who have done worse things as humans and accomplished less than Eli already in the Hall so he should be in based on the standards already set.

So, hopefully, this “debate” and wondering if Eli is a Hall of Fame player or not can be put to rest.

Next. Fans should lower expectations. dark

There is no debate. He has had a Hall of Fame career. Saturday’s induction ceremony was just another year of them before we see Eli up there where he belongs.
