Eli, Lauletta then Webb?

At this point, the New York Giants will safely have all three of these guys on the 53. Not much will change that.

Also, say goodbye to Alex Tanney he will do an excellent job for the last preseason game, but will not be around to see how the rest of the year pans out.

In this instance, the Giants will have those three QBs. That might seem obvious but I think that the shuffle will come in in-depth after it.

Eli might be immortal at this point so an injury happening to Eli is unlikely. However, if the Giants find themselves in a similar spot as last year, they can bench him.

But, the Giants should make Kyle Lauletta the second string QB, not Davis Webb. Last year, Webb was seemingly the third string and they wanted to give him reps, which they royally messed up.

To avoid that again, or to still give him reps down the line, he is better off backing up Lauletta.

How?

If Eli does miss time, it’s good to give the rookie Lauletta time to shine. If that works out, great, the Giants have their next guy, if it does not then the Giants can finally have their plan for Webb to come to fruition by coming in as insurance.

So, when the 53 comes out, Lauletta should be the back up to Eli, not Webb. But , it’s almost a lock the Giants keep all three of them around all year, they need to.
