Kyrie Irving is one of the best point guards in the NBA.

Obviously, Irving is more talented than most, but what does he bring to the table for the Knicks?

Kyrie Irving has been arguably the best point guard in the league for quite some time now. He dazzles with his ankle breaking moves and sizzles with his buzzer beating threes, Irving is a top tier player with lots to offer.

Irving has a championship pedigree, the best handles in the league, a great shot and fantastic passing skills. So what would be the problem?

Kyrie Irving has a need to be ‘the guy’ and in New York that might not be the case, especially if they brought in Jimmy Butler as well.

We all know what happened with Irving in Cleveland when he demanded to be traded because he wanted to be the ‘big man’ on campus, and now apparently he wants to leave Boston after only one season.

So, with that being, said how can the Knicks be sure that bringing in Irving is a good idea?

Kyrie Irving is from the New York area and for years he has been linked to rumors surrounding the Knicks. When he demanded a trade out of Cleveland, he named four destinations of where he wanted to be traded to.

Those four destinations were New York, Minnesota, Miami and San Antonio. This means that Kyrie Irving obviously wants to be in New York in someway, shape, or form.

Not only that, but only a few months ago when the rumors of Irving and Butler wanting to team up came out, it was said that the hopeful destination was New York.

Now the Knicks being mentioned may be because of all the contracts expiring following the 2018-19 season, they were the named destination nonetheless.
