How does the Giants defense stack up against the Panthers offense?

The Panthers have a new look offense behind first round pick DJ Moore at wide receiver, second year running back Christian McCaffery, the addition of wide receiver Torrey Smith and the return of tight end Greg Olsen.

With the addition of Moore and the return of Olsen, the Panthers offense is going to look much different this upcoming year than it did last season.

Olsen played in only seven games last season which meant Cam Newton had to go ten games without his favorite target. Without Olsen, Cam Newton started incorporating Devin Funchess a lot more as well as Christian McCaffery.

In 2018, Newton will not have to worry about who to throw to now that he has new targets along side his favorite target. With Smith, Moore, Funchess and Olsen, the Panthers will never have to worry about finding someone to throw to.

Not only do the Panthers not have to worry about the passing department, but they’re doing just fine in the rushing department as well.

In 2017, rookie running back Christian McCaffery started to prove his worth, and now that Jonathan Stewart has left Carolina for the Giants, McCaffery will prove himself even further this year.

McCaffery is one of the best young rushers in the league and behind an offensive line that consists of Ryan Kalil and company, he can thrive.

Not only that, but Cam Newton is arguably the best rushing quarterback in the league and knows how to make plays if he can not find someone to throw to.

The Giants defense is going to have their work cut out for them in Week 5 against the Panthers and they will need to step up on every front.
