Special Teams

There isn’t a lot we need to say about the punter and the kicker, mainly because their performance is just as much based on the game player’s skill as it is on the rating. With that however, we will briefly review these two guys and where they fit.

Edwards makes sense at a 77. That puts him in the middle to the bottom half of the pack, which is what he is. Johnny Hekker, for reference, has an 86 rating and he is recognized as one of the best. Edwards makes us forget Ryan Quigley at times but resembles him at other times. His inconsistency is right in line with the 77.

Cairo Santos is a career 84% field goal kicker, but only 23-29 from 40-49 yards out and only 7-13 from 50+. He deserves a rating in the middle of the pack like he has. Justin Tucker, for example, sits with a rating of 86. Matt Bryant and Robbie Gould are one back with a rating of 85 each.
