New York Jets Madden NFL 19 Ratings: Defense and special teams
Linebackers
-
Avery Williamson: 83
- Williamson is one of the underrated finds of the off-season by the Jets. With over 100 tackles in each of the last three seasons he has been a younger Demario Davis and this rating is right on.
-
Jordan Jenkins: 79
- Jenkins has shown some promise with 5.5 sacks over his first two seasons. Jenkins is a guy to watch and this rating may very well jump higher in some early season updates. The third year is a time to watch him potentially take that next big step.
-
David Bass: 75
- Bass was a surprise in 2017 with 3.5 sacks. He actually provided a presence off the edge and this rating could even have been a touch higher.
-
Lorenzo Mauldin IV: 74
- This is unfortunate because I had high hopes for this player. He seemed to have the drive but has never reached his potential as a pass rusher. This rating, honestly, is too high based on his performance. The way he has played his rating could be about a 68.
-
Darron Lee: 73
- Lee improved in 2017 but has never reached the level of a first round draft pick. I think we all hope that this 73 will rise, but for now that rating is where it should be, again unfortunately.
-
Josh Martin and Kevin Minter: 73
- Martin played 489 snaps and recorded 1.5 snaps. He could have potentially earned one or two more ratings points, but 72 isn’t a terrible interpretation. Minter flashed in Arizona with a 94 tackle performance in 2015. After 32 tackles in nine games in 2017, however, the 72 is probably on the money for Minter.
-
Kevin Pierre-Louis: 72
- Nothing really to see here, Pierre-Louis will be a rotational piece/special teams player at best.
-
Dylan Donahue: 67
- Donahue has had legal troubles and injury troubles. 67 is a gift for the time being.
