New York Giants: Ben McAdoo’s comments make no sense, he should be nowhere near the Giants

As the New York Giants try to rebuild after a disastrous 2017 season, former head coach Ben McAdoo praises them and rips them at the same time.

Former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo has broken his silence by talking about his former team.

In an interview with the New York Post McAdoo says that he thinks the Giants will win the NFC East in the upcoming season, he went more in-depth with Paul Schwartz of the New York Post:

"“I think they’re gonna win the division,” “I think Philly, how much success has Philly had? I think they’re gonna have a hard time handling success. Dallas, I like their offensive line, but how long have we been saying that? Their defense, they got a bunch of young guys playing DB, Sean Lee is banged up a lot, and their D-line, they got a bunch of guys getting in trouble all the time. And Washington is Washington, right?”"

McAdoo likes the moves that the Giants have made in the offseason. He continued to say:

"“I think they’ve made a lot of the moves I wanted to make, They made the moves to get better in the offensive line, they let the right guys leave, they had to do that with Weston [Richburg] and [Justin] Pugh — I think that was smart. Getting the guard [Will Hernandez] in there, I don’t know him, but if he’s half as good as they say, he can fight. That will help them, having that tough guy inside, because the depth of the pocket is very important with Eli. He can’t have pressure up the middle and be successful. I’d be worried about center. I think Brett Jones is probably going to be the center. I have a hard time seeing the other guy [Jon Halapio] doing it.”"

However, McAdoo doesn’t like all the moves the Giants have made. He ripped left tackle Nate Solder, who the Giants acquired as a free agent, by saying that Solder isn’t a good player. The former Giants coach also doesn’t like Ereck Flowers.

"“He can’t bend, you got to be able to bend, You can run around him on that side just like you can on the other side, Eli just gets to see it, which may help Eli. It’s not the blind side, it’s in his vision, so if he’s comfortable with what’s going on over on the left side, it can help him move in the pocket a little bit better.”"

McAdoo also talked about one of his failures as a coach. He thinks that he failed to be a good coach for Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

McAdoo told Peter King of NBC, per Neil Best of Newsday.

"“I needed to be better for him personally, as a coordinator and head coach. I was too busy trying to scheme ways to get him the ball, especially early in my time in New York, that I didn’t step back and see the big picture the way I should have”"

McAdoo was the Giants coach for less than two years as he was fired with four games left last season. He made the playoffs in his first year but went 2-10 last year before being fired.

Now, I must admit that I’m confused about something. McAdoo said that a lot of the moves the Giants have made this offseason were moves that he would have made.

So, my question to you Ben is why didn’t you make those moves while you were the coach?

If you had made those moves then maybe the Giants wouldn’t have had a disastrous 3-13 season last year. You wouldn’t have lost your job if you had made the moves you wanted when you were the coach.

McAdoo doesn’t have a coaching job for the 2018 season. However, the Giants are still paying the balance of his contract.

If McAdoo wants a coaching job, then he’s probably not going to get one after the comments he made. I think he might be auditioning for a role as an analyst.

Next: Charles Oakley is losing it too

All I know is that McAdoo should not go anywhere near the Giants offensive line or any team in the NFC East after the comments he made.
