New York Jets 2018 Positional Battles: Tight end
Jordan Leggett
In this writer’s opinion we have saved the best prospect for last. Jordan Leggett is a player that can make a huge impact as long as he is healthy.
Over his last two seasons as a member of the Clemson Tigers, Leggett posted 15 touchdowns. For his four-year career he caught the ball 112 times for 1,598 yards and 18 touchdowns. This just in, Clemson is no slouch in the college football game and those are good numbers. The biggest thing is that he has been called lazy in the past, but he also plays his game in memory of a lost high school friend. That is the signature of guy with high character.
It will be on the Jets and the offensive staff to get the most out of this young man. Maybe he got lazy when he saw that he was better than much of his competition. We all get complacent when we are good at our jobs. Coming to the NFL could be a significant motivator for him. Putting up those numbers and standing at 6-5 show a player with true upside.

Unfortunately, injuries kept Leggett from truly showing us what he could do last year. He is back now. Leggett is a guy that when given a chance will show his large upside. Look for him to take the lead in this tight end race during training camp. Jordan Leggett will make us feel grateful that Mike Maccagnan selected him.
