The Brooklyn Nets are very wisely not making any free agent splashes so far this week. However, there is still one NBA legend, Dwayne  Wade, who can cement his iconic legacy by helping the Nets.

The Brooklyn Nets are way more than a few massive free agent players away from winning anything worth vying for. They need to bolster their depth, talent and re-legitimize themselves as a franchise before they do anything.

However, there is one man who can help not only put the Nets back on the map but help himself go further into legend status if he can pull it off. His name is Dwayne Wade and you might have heard of him.

Wade is not the best player left in the free-agency pool but he is the biggest name. The writing on the wall and history shows he is likely to reunite with LeBron James in Los Angeles, or perhaps even go to the Warriors for an easy championship.

But, neither of those options would help his legacy, in fact, they would tarnish it. That is why Wade, who is likely in no rush to make a decision on where to go should come to Brooklyn.

However, t is easy to ask why the Nets would possibly ever want Wade who is this deep into his career whose production took a huge dip with his age. The Nets should want him though. He can come cheap and he can help with the development of all their young talent.

But why would Wade come to Brooklyn? The answer is simple. He can come here and help turn the franchise around and bring them back to a winning culture.

It will not be easy and considering he is 36 years old, this would be his toughest job yet. But with so many players going to “super teams” and Wade being part of plenty himself in his career, if he can come to Brooklyn and help them build a long-lasting winner, it will show how great he is.

Dwayne Wade has always had a sidekick. Yet, everyone knows how talented and basketball smart he is. But it would say a lot about his leadership, personality, charisma, and brand if he signs with the Nets and stays for a year or two to get them on track.

One, it will show that he ready to leave an impact on the game beyond his playing days. Two, it will be impressive if he can change the fate of a second NBA franchise like he did with the Heat which is something rare.

If Wade does come to Brooklyn it would be surprising of course. If he is going to come to New York some might think it should just be the Knicks. However, that would not be as impressive.

So many people already follow and care about the Knicks and no matter who comes in or is in charge they cannot get out of their own way. But the Knicks still have slightly more talent and an actual star on their team.

Wade can come into Brooklyn and help make stars. Instead of coming to a market that is already on the map, he can put Brooklyn back on the map.

Dwayne Wade will essentially go where he wants. No matter what, he will retire as a member of the Miami Heat. However, the Brooklyn Nets are not as crazy of a destination for a player like him as you might think.

The Dwight Howard stuff is over. That was a move for the Nets to free up cap space for the stacked free agency class next year. That is why Dwayne Wade can be and should be a leadership/veteran/championship experience pice to the Nets’ puzzle.

They need a veteran and Dwayne Wade needs a home. He is likely to go ring chasing but with the off-chance he never gets enough to be remembered solely for that, he should revive a market, franchise, team and cement his legacy towards what he meant for the game.

Of course, this is all speculation and just a proposal of course. There are no rumors or stories about this being a real possibility yet.

However, the Brooklyn Nets are on track and will not play rebuild forever but this would still be a huge and smart signing for both teams.
