The New York Red Bulls keep on winning. They are setting a really high standard because of it. Now, there are no excuses this team can make.

The New York Red Bulls are rolling. Even though they did lose to New England in one of their most recent MLS matches, it already feels forgotten.

Now, their next challenge is just an MLS match at home on Wednesday night vs the Seattle Sounders.

The Red Bulls are coming fresh off a dream week. They beat arch-rival NYCFC in the Open Cup then settled for a well-earned draw just days later in Columbus with a depleted team.

Winning is obviously great. But it comes with a price. Not that this is at all a bad thing but now the Red Bulls have set an incredibly high standard.

More from New York Red Bulls

The New York Red Bulls, last week, played three games in seven days. They also lost a handful of mostly starters to international duty. To pile on, they spent a lot of time traveling. All those games were also against MLS clubs.

Anyone of those things could have made the Red Bulls suffer. Had they gotten embarrassed, I would have given them the benefit of the doubt.

The excuses for losing are growing on trees for the Red Bulls. However, now, no one should even be touching that tree. They can overcome everything.

The Red Bulls are not making excuses, and they do not need to. All of the elite soccer clubs in the world always blame no one but themselves for poor play. Even with soccer refs being as poor as they are.

The Red Bulls are slowly but surely on their way to being one of those clubs. They do not let any circumstance stop them from playing well.

The depth in their lineup has reached elite levels. Their ability to make it deep into tournaments the last few matches in them is apparent.

The Red Bulls’ only flaw is the results in the games they are supposed to win. I fully consider this one of those games. They seem to play poorly against teams they match up favorably against.

Now, don’t get me wrong Seattle is a great team. They are just out of their groove. But, that is not an excuse for the Red Bulls to play poorly.

The Red Bulls do not need any more excuses or any sympathy. No one is making any for them either it is just imperative no one starts to. If the Red Bulls want to be an elite team, they need to start playing and acting like one.

If the Red Bulls lose this match it will because they deserved to. Not because of the busy schedule, lack of depth, playing a good team.

They overcame all those things all season. No longer a burden. The Red Bulls proved to me they can win any given night no matter the circumstances.

The Red Bulls are good enough to have set this excuse free standard. They have another busy stretch ahead too. It’s go time for New York’s red side.
