Fullback: Tony Richardson

This team is going to go a bit old school and have a fullback on the roster. This is not the team that is going to throw the ball all the time with three and four wide. The ultimate Jets roster is going to spend a fair share of the time running the football. That’s why we have a bell-cow like Curtis. We want a good blocking back to take him through the hole. That comes in the form of Tony Richardson.

Richardson was quite the effective blocker for the green and white. In his three seasons with the Jets he led the way for Thomas Jones breaking the 1,000 yard mark twice. In his final year, he helped LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene to 1,600 yards combined. Richardson spent his career leading the way for 1,000 yard rushers that included Adrian Peterson and Priest Holmes. He was the lead blocker for Marcus Allen‘s 100th career touchdown as well.

T-Rich could also carry the ball for a change of pace as well. For his career he averaged four yards per carry but for the Jets he upped it to 5.7 yards per carry. The Jets didn’t hand him the rock very often but when they did he was effective. His ability as a blocker was Richardson’s main calling card and he was one of the best to do it. His record speaks for itself.
