A.J. Brown, Wide Receiver, Ole Miss

More from New York Giants

As everyone knows by now, Odell Beckham Jr.’s contract comes off the books after the 2018 season and there’s definitely a chance that he’ll decide to sign elsewhere when you consider the following: Beckham’s off-the-field antics have put a major strain on his relationship with the front office, the trade rumors that swirled around this offseason may make him feel unwanted, and the New York Giants may not want to meet his ridiculous asking price for a new contract.

If both parties decide to part ways, the Giants will be in the market for a new wide receiver. The 2019 free agent market doesn’t have wide receivers anywhere near as talented as Beckham, but A.J. Brown could be the right player to go after in the draft. Like Beckham, the Ole Miss product is a speedy receiver who’s elusive in the open field and a dangerous threat whenever he has the ball in his hands.

Unlike Beckham, Brown has a big frame that allows him to easily come down with 50-50 balls and makes him a matchup nightmare for opponents. He’ll have some big shoes to fill if he winds up in the Big Apple, but Brown is the perfect wideout to take Beckham’s place.
