Scouting Report. 3. 16. player. Pick Analysis. CB . Penn State. Chris Campbell

The Buffalo Bills have a lockdown corner in Tre’Davious White. That is obvious and might go down as one of the best picks in the team’s draft history. However, they need his long-term counterpart.

The Bills signed Vontae Davis and that is a fantastic idea. He is obviously NFL-ready and chose to make Buffalo his home. However, the offseason has not even technically begun and there are still a lot of things left to happen.

Selecting Chris Campbell here is a good idea. He still has developing to do in his game. He is talented but not necessarily a day one starter. Campbell can still easily make the Bills roster.

Davis starting opposite of Tre’ White is likely, but the Bills still need to have their franchise corner. Without extending E.J. Gaines, they can look a little bit beyond next year at this point in the draft.

I know that general manager Brandon Beane will have plenty of tricks up his sleeve but investing in a corner here is one of the safer things to do.

This regime clearly has the track record for corners. White went higher than projected and it worked. It is rare but they can strike gold again by making this selection.

This allows Buffalo to invest in a tight end and more depth in the later rounds.

Assuming they figure out the quarterback situation in other ways (like we are assuming here), getting these players and filling voids in these positions would make it a successful draft for the Buffalo Bills.
