Draft Josh Rosen

This one is more of a “Plan B” than it is in addition to the first slide. The Jets don’t need to sign and draft a franchise quarterback. They must do one or the other. In short, this is the move to make if Kirk Cousins decides to go elsewhere. It is his choice, you know. The Jets could give him the greatest package possible and he still could go to Denver or somewhere else. A plan B has to be ready to go.

Josh Rosen needs to be plan B. First of all, do any of the alternate free agents at quarterback inspire you like Cousins does? Teddy Bridgewater has been too injured to trust, and Tyrod Taylor just doesn’t get it going for me. Either one would need to be supplemented with a draft pick, and that guy should be Josh Rosen. He is by far the most pro-ready of the bunch.

He is just as comfortable under center as he is in the shotgun. He sets his feet on every throw. I understand that the organization is somehow enamored with Josh Allen, but his footwork is pretty awful. He has a strong arm and that is it. Baker Mayfield has personality but so do a lot of players that haven’t made it in this town. Sam Darnold would frankly do well with one more season at USC.

If Kirk Cousins is off the free agent board, find your way to this guy. Make the trade and do whatever else you have to. Just get the guy that is ready to play on a plane to New Jersey, stat!
