Bold Move No. 1 – Trade Back in the Draft

After looking at several draft reports, trading back with the New York Jets at No. 6 overall seems like a great idea. When I played out the draft for this scenario, it made even more sense with the Browns taking Saquon Barkley and grabbing their future QB with the No. 4 overall pick. The Giants need to rebuild their depth and talent level, and extra picks mean more opportunities.

The Giants send the No. 2 overall pick to the Jets and their fifth-round selection.

The Jets send the No. 6 overall pick, a first-round pick in 2019, a second-round pick in 2018, and a fourth-round pick in 2018.

That’s not a bad haul for a team looking to change the transmission and not just change the oil anymore. With those extra picks, they not only add ammunition for this year, but they also add firepower for 2019 which should be rich with wide receiver help.
